Training Camp

Practicing with others is fun, affordable, and arguably more effective than training alone.

Training Camp creates space for adult climbers to practice under the guidance of Good Stone while building connections with others in their local community. We integrate the expertise offered to our private coaching athletes with the benefits of a supportive group setting to create an exceptional experience focused on mastery.

Jumpstart your climbing performance by training with a coach and other motivated climbers. We devote training time to all the major facets of climbing including:

  • Movement and Technique

  • Strength and Conditioning

  • Tactics and Mental Performance

My goals for joining the Training Camp were fairly simple: get stronger, rebuild my climbing confidence outdoors, and build community in Eugene after taking a hiatus from the sport since moving here. It has not only checked those boxes, but more.
— Anne-Marie Turman, Eugene

Training Camp is offered in a hybrid model. We meet once each week for a team practice. Then athletes complete independent workouts on their own time outside of practice. All workouts and exercises are provided in detail via a mobile app.

Practice will be adapted to each participant’s current abilities. No prior “training” experience necessary, but athletes should have some prior climbing experience (approximately 6 months recommended).

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or want to discuss if our Training Camp is a good fit for your needs.

Training Camp includes:

  • Three 4 week blocks of group coaching with 2 deload (rest weeks) in between. See details below.

  • Weekly two hour in person team practice

  • Complete programming for the rest of the week including workout and exercise descriptions. Athletes complete these sessions on their own time and should expect to spend another 4-6 hours training and practicing each week.

  • Email and text correspondence with coach to answer questions and keep folks on track outside of practice

  • Supplemental training and performance suggestions provided based on individual goals and needs.

  • Offered at either Circuit Eugene or Elevation Bouldering Gym!

I’ve had significant gains mentally and physically, feeling more confidence climbing indoors, and more importantly, outdoors. Training Camp provides accountability and encouragement from other team members, and my partner and I have made many friends in the process. Our group has made several outdoor climbing trips together, and we hang out together socially- things I look forward to doing more of in the future!

I highly recommend Training Camp! The workouts were simultaneously challenging and fun, and they got me feeling strong for weekend climbing. The prescribed training was not just finger boarding but had an excellent variety of strength and mobility exercises- in fact I had elbow tendinitis from years ago that cleared up after several weeks of well rounded exercises with Micah’s group. It was also cool seeing quantifiable improvements in endurance, weighted hangs, and bouldering. I look forward to each training session!
